At first glance readers probably won't be able to recognise this rather rural scene.
In fact, it shows the entrance to the Humberstone Garden Suburb estate, a part of Leicester that has featured on the Mr Leicester page recently.
Readers' memories have mentioned how the Garden City was originally surrounded by fields. This picture would bear this out.
The postcard picture was lent to me by Mr Ted Kirwan, of Oadby, who spotted it while on holiday in Filey, Yorkshire, last year.
Mr Kirwan, a collector of cards, book and cricketana, says he is always on the lookout for cards with a local connection.
The original postcard – sent from Leicester to an address in York – can be dated to 100 years ago.
The postmark on the back is 6.15pm, August 2, 1910.
